Why do I have to connect my personal Facebook account?
For Facebook and Instagram feeds, we will ask you to connect your personal Facebook account. That is a requirement by Facebook and Instagram to all third party applications and part of their terms and conditions for developers.
Below we have tried to address some of the most common questions:
I don't want to use my personal Facebook account at work. Can I use my company's account?
On Facebook, there aren't any other account types available than personal user accounts. Every personal account can be connected to Facebook Business Manager to manage company Pages or invited to administrate a specific company Page. If you don't have a personal Facebook account yet (or don't want to use your current one), it's easy to create a new one on Facebook.com.
I'm creating an Instagram feed. Why do I have to connect my personal Facebook account?
Instagram doesn't have user management for a company account (also known as Business Account). Therefore, Instagram is using a Facebook connection to check if you administrate at least one Facebook Page and if there's Instagram Business Account connected to it. If you have, you can access content of any Instagram Business Account and all public images/videos mentioning a hashtag. If you don't have Instagram Business Account or it's not connected to a Facebook Page yet, you can change that from Instagram app settings.
If I connect my account, are my personal Facebook content and messages visible on Flockler?
No. We don't access, store, or display any of your personal account content or data. We only ask you to connect your Facebook account as Facebook and Instagram require it in terms and conditions. In turn, they allow you to access the content from public Facebook Pages, public Instagram Business Accounts, and all public Instagram images/videos mentioning a hashtag. See the full list of supported social media sources and content types.
Our company has got the Instagram Business Account, but Flockler is saying that I don't have access. What can I do?
Please check:
-
Are you admin of at least one Facebook Page? You can confirm that by navigating to your company's Page on Facebook and checking your Page Role from Page Settings.
-
Does that Facebook Page have Instagram Business Account connected? You can check this by logging in to the Instagram app and clicking 'Edit Settings'. From settings, you should find the connected Facebook Page. If the Page is not visible, make sure your Instagram account is a Business Account and then connect the Page.
If you are admin of a Facebook Page and Instagram Business Account is connected to a Facebook Page, and you can't access the content, please send us a chat message, and we'll try and help to solve the issue.
I'm working for an agency. Do I have to be admin of the client's Facebook Page/Instagram account to display their content?
No. You can display the content of any public Facebook Page as long as you are admin of at least one Facebook Page. Similarly, you can display content by any Instagram Business Account if you administrate at least one Facebook Page with Instagram Business Account connected.
